All the political reports I read this morning discussed how close this election is—we have never had such a razor-thin margin in history, the pundits assure us. Many will not even hazard a guess as to which candidate will emerge victorious. I cannot help but wonder how that is possible? How can all these people who read polls and track politics for a living shrug their shoulders and say they truly will not even try to predict? The only answer seems to be that, whether the Left will admit it or not, we all know our election system is rife with fraud. So much hangs on “too big to rig” and court cases disputing the veracity of dubious mail-in ballots. It is a national disgrace, but the uncertainty is the natural result of the 2020 steal, which saw a massively successful incumbent with all the political momentum—and a mounting margin of victory in the election count—suddenly defeated in the dead of night by a feeble and unpopular challenger.
So, yes, as I write this quick piece on Election Day morning, unfortunately, the truth is that none of us knows what will happen today. I am cautiously optimistic, but that is primarily because I am always optimistic about America.
Our task, however, does not change regardless of who is elected. One verdict that I know will take longer than the election results is the verdict on the fate of America. If Trump wins, we are not necessarily saved, and if Kamala wins, we are not necessarily (wholly) destroyed. Our task, as the grassroots, is to save ourselves, and that task is in front of us no matter who takes the White House. If Trump wins, we will have the wind at our backs; if Kamala wins, it will be an arduous struggle. No matter who wins, we must fix our elections by whatever means necessary.
America must ditch the electronic machines and return to hand counted paper ballots. Only then will we have confidence in our elections again, and only then will we really start to see the true will of the American people. I firmly believe that securing our elections is possible, and it must be done.
Four years ago, in the wake of the 2020 election, I tried to talk to people about fixing our elections, and so many just looked at me and replied, “Will we even survive to 2020?” The defeatism was crippling. We were told that if Trump lost, 2020 would the last election. Why bother to fight? Yet here we are. It is Tuesday, November 5th, and Donald Trump is once again on the ballot.
We cannot let the outcome of the election steal our focus. If Trump wins, in four short years, J.D. Vance will face our election system, and the Democrats will be ready. If Kamala wins, four years from now, someone—maybe J.D. Vance—will face our election system again.
In short, whatever happens tonight, do not be complacent after this election. If Trump wins, you cannot sigh relief and go back to regular life. If Kamala wins, you cannot say we are doomed and check out for the next 3.5 years.
